We were excited to get to attend training for our upcoming short term mission trip through SIM at their offices in Charlotte. We really enjoyed getting to meet other short-termers getting prepared to go out all over the world. And, we truly grew to love the SIM family! Excited for our trip this summer to Ethiopia.
I couldn't believe this gorgeous sunset I was able to capture. God's art is breath-taking!
Madison's final choir concert of her Freshman year. We thought we were only going to do choir for one year to fulfill her fine arts requirement, but she has loved it and I believe being involved in the arts is soooo good for a well rounded development!

Madison got an Academic Excellence award for having the highest average in the school for French I.  Sooooo proud!!  She loves French and I love that she has a gift of learning other languages...it goes right along with her desire to do international missions.  I love to see God equipping my kids to be a part of His work in the world!!

Traditional bluebonnet photos...found a beautiful field this year!!

This week the butterflies were finally ready to release.  We love the tradition of watching our caterpillars form cocoons and hatch into beautiful butterflies right around Easter.  Such a beautiful picture of the new and beautiful life God creates in us when we die to ourselves.

And Sam performed for his final program as a Pre-Ker and just like that my baby is about to start full day school.  :(

* we adore the amazing Ms. Joan and will miss her oh so much!!

Max was once again displayed at the Mansfield ISD art exhibit.  I love to see the gifts and talents God has graced my children with blossoming.

Good Friday.  After the service I look over at Max and he has his head buried in his hands.  I think he must be tired, or something happened that I didn't notice.  I kneel down next to him and notice he's sobbing into his hands.  I ask him what is wrong and he blurts out, "I am just so sorry for all of my sins!"  It took my breath away.  In that service, for the first time, he truly heard and understood exactly what Jesus had done for him on the cross.  He took the punishment for every sin and it overwhelmed Max.  His eyes were opened and His heart trusted his Savior to be LORD of his life.  I will never forget that moment.  I truly saw God open his eyes and speak to him.  He called him to be His forever and there is nothing more I want for my children!!

The next day was the Easter Festival at church.  I love watching my kids have fun together!

Easter Sunday...

The kids woke up to some Easter Basket goodies.  We went to church to celebrate our risen Savior.  It was, as always, an amazing service.  Then home for our tradition of breakfast burritos and Easter egg hunt with family.  I need to do better at taking pictures of my beautiful family.  My mom, dad, step-mom, sister, brother-in-law and nephew were all there.  What a great day!
